This is Neon Moonlight’s story.

AITJ for getting my stepsister in trouble and transferred to public school?

When my mom(37 Japanese) married my stepdad(42 Caucasian) when me(Male) and both of my triplet brothers Shino and Kuro were 15, we moved from Japan to America. There we met our stepsister Lily(17), and we knew that she didn’t like us the moment we met.

At first she would just ignore us, but that all changed when the new school year started. Our stepdad enrolled us in the same private high school that lily went to. From day one she made it her mission to make our lives miserable.

She would make snide comments about us with her friends and would insult us at home when our mom and stepdad weren’t around. It was like that for a few months but we managed to ignore it.

Then one day she had few of her guy friends mess with both Shino and Kuro by locking them in a storage closet until a teacher managed to get them out. Insulting us was one thing, but hurting my triplets was going too far. I was pissed, but kept a cool head and thought of a way to expose her.

I told my brothers to watch out and let me handle Lily. I confronted her on why her friends did that to my brothers and why she hated us. She said that she had hated us the day we meet and that me, my brothers, and our mother were filthy Asians that needed to learn our place. She then proceeded to have her friends try to attack me, but stopped when the headmaster showed up and told them to go to his office.

I had went to the headmaster’s office and reported the abuse me and my brothers were going through. He had seen the whole confrontation, and afterwards contacted our parents. Needless to say stepdad was pissed and yelled at her, made her move in with her grandmother in the country side and transferred to a public school after the semester as punishment. He also apologized for what Lily had done and promised it would never happen again.

Was I the jerk?

Ntj – sorry but serves her right and this comes from her upbringing which shows the racism from that side. You thought smart and not emotional – well done.

NTJ, You did a good thing Little Brother, I’m proud of you for standing up to your bully and happy your stepdad took it seriously. Be safe out there and don’t forget to look for the good people, we’re out here rooting for you and your brothers and Mom.

Why would you possibly think you were?

Fickle Toe said,

Good for you. You exposed a racist. And protected your brothers at the same time. You did nothing to her but exist. She brought all of the consequences on herself.

Cell Lucky said,

NTJ. You defended your family. No matter what anyone else says, that alone is something to be proud of.

Long Jumping said,

NTJ. I’m glad her father did the right thing and made sure she stopped. She is to blame for her current predicament.

Alison Chains said,

Of course you are not the jerk! Standing up for your brothers and yourself to a bully, especially in a creative, non-violent way is awesome and you did very well. You should ge proud! I’m sorry you had to experience such shameful racism here in America.

Orney Wasabi said,

NTJ. She’s a racist and a troublemaker who tried to get you and your brothers hurt. Good on your stepfather for not tolerating that BS.

Ginger said,

NTJ! She FAFO! Good for your stepdad for sticking up for you and giving her consequences for her actions.

Watch out for her friends though. She may still have contact with them and have them bully you. Before the first day of school, talk to the headmaster and make sure her old friends can’t do anything to you.
